Yet another senior from Gordon-Rushville High School has made the official jump into the collegiate athletic ranks.
GRHS student Carter Anderson put pen to paper to join the Rodeo program at Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington, Wyo.
Anderson, who excelled as a Mustang in Football and Basketball, spent his summers in the arena as well.
His roots to the family ranch spurred his love for the sport which he has transitioned into a lot of success.
Anderson will be joined by his team roping partner Sage Shrunk from Valentine, Neb. at EWC and the duo will look to make their mark as Lancers.
This past season, the duo was ranked as high as #1 in the Team Roping rankings in the State of Nebraska with Anderson being the header and Shrunk being the heeler.
The pair have been roping together since they were 10 years old.
Anderson is also an accomplished calf roper, ranking as high as 4th in the State in 2022 as well.
He is also a two-time qualifier for the High School Rodeo Nationals during his secondary years.
Fittingly, the duo will begin their 2023 season this Saturday, April 29 with the first event of the high school season in Hyannis and Arthur, Neb.
