Sheridan County Robotics teams make a Croatian Connection

A chance meeting during a trip to Croatia for a group of Sheridan County residents evolved into a very special relationship for a group of 4-H students.Lydia Swanson and Cassie Banks were on a trip to Croatia and checking out a local winery.

Law enforcement urges drivers to obey traffic laws for citizens’ safety

A recent uptick of illegal U-Turns in Gordon has raised concern for local law enforcement.According to Gordon Police Chief Clay Heath, there has been an increase lately in drivers crossing the double lines on Main Street in Gordon in order to park on the opposite side of the street.

G-R senior Kirsten Heck becomes first member of 100 win club for G-R Girls Wrestling

A four year journey for a Mustang wrestler came to fruition this past week as Gordon-Rushville Girls Wrestling senior Kirsten Heck won her 100th career match. With that win, Heck became the first ever member of the illustrious club for the G-R Girls Wrestling program.

Royalty comes to Gordon; Miss USA Audrey Eckert visits Gordon Countryside Care

Royalty descended upon Gordon this past week as the reigning Miss USA Audrey Eckert made a Christmas visit.Eckert, who was crowned Miss USA in October of 2025, came to visit her family to celebrate the holidays fresh off a trip to Thailand where she was competing in the Miss Universe competition.

The Gordon City Council met for their second meeting of the month of December on Thursday, December 18 beginning at 6:00 p.m.No one was absent for the meeting as President Alyssa DeHart, Bradley Gates, Doug Woodbeck, Jerod Petersen, and Tom Evans were all present.
