In my recent newsletter I sent out to my Reader List—those who follow my work beyond the scope of my duties here at SCJS—I offered some gift ideas for the season, including a couple books I thought were good, both of which are releases by well-known authors.

Bat Pourier, Richae Malara, Brianna Moon, and Rowdy Moon have taken on managerial and ownership roles to open Rowdy’s Gas & Grub in the former Highway Express building in Gordon. The group has big plans as well to add even more options for residents and travelers alike.

Some new life has been injected into a long standing business on Highway 20 in Gordon.Rowdy and Brianna Moon purchased the former Highway Express gas station in Gordon and are bringing it back to life with plenty of new and exciting options for residents and travelers alike.

This year marks the 26th year that Hay Springs area residents have enjoyed a communitywide Thanksgiving dinner— cooked, served, and delivered to those unable to attend in person.

The Hay Springs Future Farmers of America (FFA) group is excited to host its annual event once again in 2025 at Lister Sage. The Annual Santa Soup Cook-Off is set for Dec. 11 and all are invited to come inside and enjoy the festivities.

Gordon resident and current City Council member Doug Woodbeck was recognized for his lifelong journey in world of water management.Woodbeck’s career began here in Gordon in 1980 as he joined the City of Gordon staff as a Water System Employee.

The Sheridan County 4-H community gathered on Sunday October 25th to celebrate the achievements and dedication of its youth members, leaders, and volunteers at the 2025 Sheridan County 4-H Achievement Banquet.

By Scott Bidroski The balls have been polished and the pins are falling for the Gordon-Rushville Unified Bowling team as they begin their season. The group began their week with a trip to Alliance and found plenty of success on the lanes.
