Matt and Nicole Jansen have been running a successful packing house since 2015.
Now that Rushville’s grocery store has closed its doors, they are answering the call to help provide other grocery solutions.
“We’ll always have bacon, side pork, sausage, and ground beef in stock,” Nicole says.
“Anytime we have something new or different, we’ll post it to our Facebook page.”
Browsing through the beautifully set up entryway to their business, they now have several large coolers packed full of dairy products such as milk, eggs, sour cream, several varieties of shredded cheese, buttermilk, and half and half.
They have numerous fruit options like fresh bananas, pears, apples, oranges, lemons, limes, and pineapple. They also keep lettuce, potatoes, avocados, peppers, sweet potatoes, and onions on hand.
They will continue to bring the same dependable quality to all the custom cuts they do, but will also provide frozen cuts of meat in their entryway coolers.
“When summer hits, we’ll have fresh cuts of meat so people can drop in, pick up a couple steaks, and be able to throw them right on their grill without having to thaw anything,” Nicole points out.
The Jansens are open to suggestions. Nicole says, “If there’s something special that somebody needs, they could put a list together for me and I’ll get all that I can.”
Jansen’s Custom Cut will bring different varieties of meat and fruit as they become available to them, and also when holidays hit. “We hope to have sweet corn during the summer and bring in cabbage, turkey, and ham when people start needing that for a holiday dinner.”
The Jansens are testing the waters to see what works. They’re carrying beef jerky and chicken breasts and in the near future, hope to have thighs and drummies available.
Jansen Custom Cut is currently open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 am to 6 pm. They close each of those days from 12 to 1 for lunch.
