GRHS senior McKinley Grover set to begin collegiate career at WSC

By Scott Bidroski Gordon-Rushville senior McKinley Grover made it official this past week, signing her Letter of Intent to continue her athletic career at Wayne State College.Grover will join the WSC Track & Field program for Throws this fall, following her senior season as a Mustang.

Armstrong House Museum update

The Armstrong House Museum located at the corner of Highway 20 and Nelson Avenue in Rushville, Nebraska, is about to see a huge change. The Museum has been raising money to add-on a structure that will become the Sheridan County History Center.

The inauguration of Chadron State College’s twelfth president, Dr. Ron K. Patterson, is set for Friday, April 5, at 3 p.m. at Memorial Hall. Patterson came to CSC from the University of North Alabama in Florence.

Rushville P.E.O. hosts March meeting

Chapter DW Rushville P.E.O. held their meeting Monday, March 4 with 14 sisters in attendance. Election and Installation of new officers was held. The theme for 2024-2025 is “Let the Light of our Star Shine for All”.

Special Olympics West Regional Basketball held in Chadron

On March 2, 2024, the Special Olympics West Regional Basketball was held at the Chadron Middle School gym in Chadron with teams competing from Scottsbluff, Alliance and Chadron. The following results are from that competition. Teams competed in skills and 3 on 3 basketball.

Rangeland leader Jim O’Rourke dies

By Con Marshall A retired Chadron State College professor who was a world leader in range management, Dr. Jim O’Rourke, died early Tuesday, March 5 at the Chadron Community Hospital of a heart attack. He was 81. A celebration of life will be in June at the family’s ranch south of Chadron.
