The Rushville Volunteer Fire Department hosted a training on Tuesday, September 3.The men and women on the department did a extrication training with two different vehicles in a variety of situations.

September is National Suicide Prevention Month—a time to acknowledge the lives lost to suicide, those who have struggled with suicidal thoughts, and the loved ones of those who have died by suicide. It is also a time to raise awareness about suicide prevention by emphasizing a message of hope.

Coomes is WTC Champ for Mustang Golf

By Scott Bidroski The 2024 Girl’s Golf season is in full swing for the Gordon-Rushville Mustangs. Senior Katie Coomes has gotten off the best start of her career, setting personal bests in both meets so far.

Mustang XC shows out in Gering at Red Rocks

By Scott Bidroski The Gordon-Rushville Cross Country team traveled to Gering, Neb. for the second competition of the 2024 season on Friday, September 6. The girls shined in this one, with two of the Mustangs team placing in the Top Ten of the varsity 5,000 meter race.

Hawks split opening Tri to begin season

By Scott Bidroski The season has begun and the Hawks have hit the floor for the first time in the 2024 volleyball season. Hay Springs welcomed in Garden County and Banner County for a triangular on Tuesday, September 3 to begin their season.

Cards nip Mustangs in fifth set to win

By Scott Bidroski After playing their first four matches away from home, the Mustang Volleyball team returned to the friendly confines of their home gym. The Chadron Cardinals would be the opponent as the two teams would write another chapter in the long standing rivalry.

Eagles oust Mustangs in home opener

By Scott Bidroski The lights turned up bright for the first time this season at The Stable as the Gordon-Rushville football team welcomed in the O’Neill Eagles for their home opener. The two teams squared off on Friday, September 6 with kickoff at 6:00 p.m.
