Arbor Day is a civic holiday with special ties to Nebraska. In 1872, a man by the name of J. Sterling Morton came to the Nebraska Board of Agriculture with the idea that a special day be assigned for the planting of trees.

Two middle school records fall at Best of the West for Mustangs

By Scott Bidroski The Gordon-Rushville Middle School Track & Field team sent a group of athletes to Scottsbluff, Neb. on Tuesday, April 23 for the annual Best of the West Track Meet. When the events finished, two school records bit the dust by the outstanding young men and women on the track.
