Local law enforcement to honor those who have fallen on May 16

Local law enforcement, along with local citizens, will honor those who serve this Friday, May 15 with an annual event.

Across the United States, Police Week takes place May 11 - May 17 and the Peace Officer Memorial Day is set for May 15 nationwide.

Locally, there will be a event to honor law enforcement and it set for 5:00 p.m. this Friday.

A procession will leave the Gordon Police Department, 311 N. Oak St., and will head up to the Gordon Cemetery.

At the Cemetery, Jason Gantz will lead the ceremony to honor those who have fallen in the line of duty.

The memorial service will take place at the grave of Gregory Holloway, a Gordon Police Officer who was killed in a car accident in November 1999 while en route to an accident call.

Everyone is welcome to join in the procession beginning at the Gordon PD or the Gordon Cemetery for the service.
