Gordon resident and current City Council member Doug Woodbeck was recognized for his lifelong journey in world of water management.

Woodbeck’s career began here in Gordon in 1980 as he joined the City of Gordon staff as a Water System Employee.

That quickly turned into the position of Utility Superintendent where he stayed for a decade.

He then took a new job with the State of Nebraska as a Water Supply Specialist in North Platte, Neb.

It progressed once again in 2002, as he moved to Lincoln, Neb. to be a supervisor in the Drinking Water Program for the city, supervising eleven staff members.
