In sorrow we share the passing of Sharon K. Witt (Hansen), who peacefully left this world on March 28, 2025, at the age of 82. Sharon was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, cousin, and friend, known for her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for those around her. Born on October 30, 1942, in Gordon, Nebraska, Sharon lived a life filled with love, laughter, and purpose. She dedicated herself to nursing, providing compassionate care to those in need. Beyond her career, Sharon was a gifted artist with a passion for painting and drawing, capturing beauty and emotion through her creations. Her love for the arts extended to music, where she shared her many musical talents with family and friends, bringing joy through her melodies.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Willie Witt; her brother, Jay Hanson; her sons, Scott (Michelle) Witt of Portland, Oregon, Brett (Mindy) Kersey of Gordon, Nebraska, and Mark (Caroline) Kersey of Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was a cherished grandmother to Andrew and Katie Witt, Conner (Taylor) Kersey, Tori (Audie)Kersey-Ramsey, Brady (Shayley) Kersey, Brandon Kersey, Breanna (Shawn) Kersey, Cole Witt, Jayden (Trevor) Henry-McMahon, Amanda (RJ) Witt-Sitting Holy, and Nichole Witt. She was also a proud greatgrandmother to Oaklynn Landreth and Faith and Evan Witt and Tripp and Emmarit McMahon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bus and Shirley Hansen; her son, Jay Witt; as well as her grandparents and aunts and uncles.
A celebration of Sharon’s life was held on Monday, March 31, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Pier Funeral Home in Gordon, Nebraska, burial followed at the Amity Cemetery north of Rushville.
Her warmth, creativity, and music will forever resonate in the lives she touched.
