A special event is scheduled this Wednesday, June 18 at the Gordon City Library.The Gordon Library Book Club is hosting local author Harlen Wheeler to discuss the writing process for his bestselling book, ‘The Twelve Hours That Changed the Sandhills Forever.’The event will begin at 1:30 p.m.

Mulcahy graduates from Earlham College

Erin (Rin) Mulcahy, daughter of Mike and Chris Mulcahy and granddaughter of Leland and Joan Mulcahy of Gordon and Martin and Carol Barth of Rushville has been accepted into the Long Island University Veterinary program.Rin is a recent graduate of Earlham College in Richmond, Ind.

17th Annual CARE Golf Tourney has successful day on the links

The 17th annual CARE Golf Tournament was held this past weekend at the Gordon Country Club in Gordon.28 total teams competed on the beautiful June day, finding success on the course while supporting a good cause and organization.

Sheridan County residents join in nationwide ‘No Kings’ demonstrations

By Scott Bidroski A nationwide “No Kings” protest came to Rushville over the weekend. Around 40 individuals gathered in front of the Sheridan County Courthouse on Saturday, June 14 to peacefully participate in the “No Kings” demonstrations that took place across the United States.

Family Friendly Monster Mash coming June 27

A well-known legend in Sheridan County states that during the 1920s, settlers first saw the Walgren Lake monster. Details of what the monster looks like vary from a giant alligator to an unusually large beaver to a huge mudpuppy or catfish.
