It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Connie Schwarting on July 23rd, 2025, at the age of 77, while living in Phoenix, Ariz. She had been bravely battling multiple sclerosis for nearly 30 years. Connie was born on March 26, 1948.

Dixie Lee Stouffer passed away August 13, 2025 at Pioneer Manor in Hay Springs, Neb. at the age of 87. Dixie Lee was born on June 7, 1938 to Gordon & Glenna (Bolie) Stouffer. Dixie grew up in Gordon, Neb., was a member of the Wesleyan Gospel Chapel and very much a community staple.

Debra J. “Debbie” Kernick was born May 7, 1959 to Philip and Dorothy Shedeed (Doering) in Gregory, South Dakota. Debbie was married to Scott Kernick on June 19, 1993 in Gordon and to this union a daughter Shay was born in 1995. They were married until his death in 2019.

Celia Sandoz Ostrander Barth, died August 22, 2025 at Pioneer Manor in Hay Springs, Neb. at the age of 99 years, a week away from turning 100. She was born August 30, 1925, the eldest child of 3 in Rushville, Neb. to Jules Alexander Sandoz and Mary Matilda “Kicken” Sandoz.
