Mustangs have strong day at Greg Gass Invite, turn sights to Districts

By Scott Bidroski The Gordon-Rushville Mustangs had one final tuneup before they jump into the postseason of the 2024 Track & Field season.A quick trip down Highway 20 to Valentine for the annual Greg Gass Invitational was on the schedule and the team made the most of blustery, cool May morning.

Mintken collects four golds once again, Hawks shine in Leyton

Mustang golfers hit the links for WTC Golf Meet

By Scott Bidroski Three Mustang golfers took the links in Kimball, Nebraska on Friday, May 3 for the Western Trails Conference Tournament.Following the 18 holes, the top golfer for the Mustangs would be Iram Hunter who shot a score of 98.

Two middle school records fall at Best of the West for Mustangs

By Scott Bidroski The Gordon-Rushville Middle School Track & Field team sent a group of athletes to Scottsbluff, Neb. on Tuesday, April 23 for the annual Best of the West Track Meet.When the events finished, two school records bit the dust by the outstanding young men and women on the track.

Mustangs put together strong performance at Chadron Twilight

Another track meet is in the books for the Gordon-Rushville Mustang team and even though the temps were a bit chilly, the team saw a plethora of top performances.The team traveled to Chadron High School for the annual Chadron Twilight meet on Friday, April 19.

Mintken wins 4 golds, Hawks have solid day at Chadron

The Hay Springs Hawks made the quick 20 mile trip to Chadron High School on Friday, April 19 for the Chadron Twilight Track Meet.Senior Gage Mintken was the main culprit on the day, securing a gold medal in all four events he was entered into.

Hawks starting to rev up their 2024 season

Following a brief break in the action, the Hawks Track & Field team returned to the oval at the Alliance Invite on Saturday, April 13.A host of Hawks found the top of the podium at the meet, with a few also setting personal bests and season records.

The Hay Springs Junior High Track and Field team got their first action on the oval this past week when they traveled to Bayard for a Invite.Eighth grader Megan Anderson had herself quite the afternoon, setting two new school records in the Long Jump and the Triple Jump.
