Fly-In event to take place on Saturday

By Lisa Hare This year the Gordon Municipal Airport was selected to host the annual Nebraska State Fly-In. The event will be held at the airport on Saturday, June 7, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Local Historian to be featured on History Channel Series

On Memorial Day, the History Channel premiered the first episode of Kevin Costner’s The West, an 8-episode series co-produced by Kevin Costner and Doris Kearns Goodwin.

Chief Joseph “Joe” American Horse was honored this past Thursday, May 8 by the University of Colorado. The Pine Ridge, S.D. resident received the Doctor of Humane Letters degree for his extensive work assisting the Oglala Lakota and other Indigenous peoples.

Local law enforcement to honor those who have fallen on May 16

Local law enforcement, along with local citizens, will honor those who serve this Friday, May 15 with an annual event.Across the United States, Police Week takes place May 11 - May 17 and the Peace Officer Memorial Day is set for May 15 nationwide.
