Rawles, Tesch-Wolkins medal at AAU State Wrestling

Gordon-Rushville Youth Wrestlers brought home some hardware for the AAU State Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, March 9.Both Brayzee Rawles and Jameson Tesch-Wolkins finished in third place in their respective weight brackets to bring home the bronze medal.

By Scott Bidroski The 2023-24 season closed for the Hay Springs Hawks Boys Basketball team last week, as they fell to the Wynot Blue Devils in the District Final.With the loss, the chapters were closed for four outstanding seniors within the program.

Hawks win Sub-District, falls short against Wynot in bid for State

The stage was set for the Hay Springs Boys Basketball team as they took care of business in the opening round of the Class D2-12 Sub-District Tournament and earned a berth into the championship game.

Season closes for Mustang boys at Subs against Bridgeport

By Scott Bidroski The 2023-24 season for the Gordon-Rushville Basketball team has come to a close for the Mustang Boys.The team traveled to Bridgeport, Neb. on Tuesday, February 20 to face off with the #1 seeded host Bulldogs in the first round of the Class C2-12 Sub-District tournament.

Photo by Brooke Simmons The 2023-24 Gordon-Rushville Cheerleading team competed at the State Championships in Grand Island, Neb. on Friday and Saturday, February 16 & 17. The team finished in seventh place in Class C1 Game Day division. 24 teams competed with the Mustangs at the competition.

Panhandle Premier volleyball provides another option for local athletes

This year at Gordon Rushville there has been a rise in the interest of girls sports. That includes cross country, wrestling, basketball and volleyball. The Gordon-Rushville varsity volleyball team consisted of 4 seniors this year, McKinley Grover, Haley Johnson, Skye Tausan and Trinity Taylor.

Mike Trader’s Mid-America Basketball Camp

Mike Trader’s Annual Mid-America Basketball Camp will conduct eight individual sessions this summer. The overnight and commuter camps for boys and girls will be held June 30 - July 3 at Central Community College (Platte Campus) in Columbus and July 8-11 at Doane University.
