Mustangs down Bobcats, get clipped by Bulldogs

The first two games of the 2025-26 season are in the books for the Gordon-Rushville Girls Basketball team and they began their schedule with a split.The first contest was a road test against the Hemingford Bobcats on Friday, December 5.

Hawks down Wolves to earn win number one

Things got started for the Hay Springs Hawks exactly how they had it drawn up; with a win.The Arthur County Wolves made the trip to Lister to face the Hawks in the season opener this past Saturday, December 6.

Hawks battle hard in Chadron, Custer to open season

The four young ladies from the Hay Springs wrestling program took to the mat this past week for their first action of the season.The Chadron Girls Invite took place on Thursday, December 4 at the Hawks got to work.

Younkin, Otte finish in second place at O’Neill Invite to begin season

The season has officially begun for the Mustang wrestlers as they made a trip to O’Neill, Neb. for an Invite.Only 4 of the young men on the team jumped into a bracket as most are working on healing up from some bumps and bruises early in the year.

Under new direction, Hawks are poised for big season

The first game of the 202526 season is in the books for the Hay Springs Hawks Boys Basketball team and the new era of Head Coach Beau Hanks has officially begun.The Hawks welcomed in the Arthur County Wolves for their first game on Saturday, December 6.

The season has begun for the young men on the Hay Springs Wrestling squad.A trip down Highway 2 to Mullen High School on Saturday, December 6 got the season started for the Hawks.Six men took to the mat and when the dust settled a lot was learned.

Expectations are high for experienced Hawks group on the hardwood

Experience will not be in short supply for the Hay Springs Hawks Girls Basketball team in 2025-26.Numbers for the group have bolstered to ten student-athletes for second year Head Coach Gabe Varvel.

Hawks begin season in Mullen on December 6

Seven young men from Hay Springs are ready to begin their 2025-26 Wrestling season this week.A group that is primarily younger athletes will be led by it’s pair of upperclassmen, senior Mason Albrecht and junior Tripp Buettner.

Mustang boys poised for big jump on the hardwood in 25-26

Last season, the Gordon-Rushville Boys Basketball team came back from a winless 202324 season. They won only six games but showed great improvement throughout the season.

Record twelve girls to fill the mats this season for G-R Wrestling

With record numbers suiting up for the Gordon-Rushville Girls Wrestling team, expectations are high for the blue and orange.Twelve girls are in the practice room currently, getting prepared for their first competition on Thursday, December 4 in Chadron.
