Hawks Girls Wrestling team to open season in Chadron on Dec. 4

Five young women are ready to hit the mat this season for the Hay Springs Hawks.Under the direction of Head Coach Chuck McCance, the group of five is putting in the work to begin their season in Chadron on Thursday, December 4.“I like the drive the girls have this year,” said Coach McCance.

Small but mighty; G-R grapplers ready to bring the fight to the mat

A fresh look for G-R Girls Basketball is ready for season opener

A new look for the Gordon-Rushville Girls Basketball team both on the floor and on the bench is ready to launch their 2025-26 season.Returning to coach the girls is longtime coach Randy Hurlburt.

Region’s trio of rodeo standouts are NFR qualifiers

Hawks season ends in heartbreaking five-set loss in District Final

 Following an emotional and charged victory over Highway 20 rival Crawford in a Sub-District final, the Hay Springs Hawks Volleyball team fell just short on their bid for State.The Hawks took care of the Rams on Tuesday, October 28 by the final score of 3-1 to become Sub-District champions.

Pair of seniors rewrite Mustang Football records during 2025 campaign as new era is ushered in

The football season for the Mustangs of Gordon-Rushville came to close on Friday, October 24 in their home loss to Amherst.Although the season was a tough one when it comes to record, 0-9, the team found plenty of success to celebrate and build upon moving forward.

Mustang VB says goodbye to ten seniors; sights set on future success for returners

The 2025 Volleyball season closed this past Monday, October 27 for the Gordon-Rushville Mustang Volleyball team in a Sub-District loss to the Kimball Longhorns.With the ending of the season, a review of the contributions of a senior class is always in order.

G-R’s Cournoyer wins bronze at NSAA State Cross County meet

History was made this past Friday, October 24 on the hilly and challenging cross country course in Kearney, Neb. at the 2025 Nebraska State Cross Country meet.Gordon-Rushville High School junior Rarity Cournoyer raced to a blazing time of 19:28.12 and a third place finish.

A group of 5th and 6th graders from Gordon-Rushville made their mark on the youth volleyball space this past weekend Gordon-Rushville High School alum Lexi Hoagland led the team being assisted by fellow alum Sharla Roth.

Mustang Girls XC wins District D-6 Title; seven Mustangs qualify for State XC in Kearney

The season in which has seen a lot of success for the Gordon-Rushville Cross Country just got a bit sweeter after this past week.The G-R Girls took home the District Title during the meet, placing 4 of their studentathletes in the qualification zone of the top 15.
