The season has begun for the young men on the Hay Springs Wrestling squad.
A trip down Highway 2 to Mullen High School on Saturday, December 6 got the season started for the Hawks.
Six men took to the mat and when the dust settled a lot was learned.
Junior Tripp Buettner led the group with a 2-2 record. Buettner wrestled well in a loaded 157 bracket but fell just short of medaling.
Senior Mason Albrecht was the only other Hawk who picked up a win as he finished his day at 1-2 overall.
Royal Terrel, James Scott, William Gaswick, and Easton Johnson all finished their days with an 0-2 record and will look to get that first win this week.
The Hawks will be in Gordon this Saturday, December 13 as they will join in for the G-R Invite.
