Nebraska all-stars romp to victory in 6-man shootout

By Con Marshall  Hay Springs quarterback Dylan Young ran for three touchdowns and threw for two more as the Nebraska All-Stars defeated Wyoming 68-28 during the 14th annual Six-Man Shootout played Friday night at Chadron State College.

Play ball! The Security First Regulators hit the diamond for legion baseball action

Summer has officially begun here in Sheridan County as the Security First Regulators have started their 2025 baseball seasons.Three teams and thirtyone young men comprise the Regulators this year with teams at the Prep, Junior, and Senior levels.

Mustangs take to the oval in Scottsbluff to begin 2025 track season

The 2025 Track & Field season got the green light this past week as a beautiful March day turned into success for the Gordon-Rushville Mustangs.The team traveled to Scottsbluff High School for their first action on Friday, March 28.

Mustangs beat Lions to bring home third place at Western Trails

The Mustang Girls Basketball team jumped into the annual Western Trails Conference (WTC) Tournament this past week.It all began with a trip to Mitchell, Neb. to face the Tigers in the opening round.The evening proved tough for both offenses as defense ruled the roost throughout.

The three juniors on the Gordon-Rushville Girls Wrestling team are headed to Omaha.Lainey Fillmore, Jenifer Banister, and Kirsten Heck all punched their ticket to the NSAA State Wrestling Tournament during Class B District competition this past weekend.

A program first happened this past Friday, January 31 for the Gordon-Rushville Girls Wrestling team.The five young ladies that hit the mat for G-R were able to score enough team points to edge the West Holt Huskies for a first place finish as a team at the Ainsworth Tournament on Friday, January 31.

The ladies on the Hay Springs Girls Basketball team jumped with both feet for the Panhandle Athletic Conference Tournament this past week.The tournament was hosted by Crawford High School as the Hawks faced the Cowgirls from Cody-Kilgore first on Wednesday, January 22.

What a week it was for the Hay Springs Boys Basketball team as they had a big week on the hardwood.The team jumped into the Panhandle Athletic Conference Tournament (PANCO) starting on Tuesday, January 21 with a showdown with Cody-Kilgore.
