Play ball! The Security First Regulators hit the diamond for legion baseball action

Summer has officially begun here in Sheridan County as the Security First Regulators have started their 2025 baseball seasons.

Three teams and thirtyone young men comprise the Regulators this year with teams at the Prep, Junior, and Senior levels.

The teams feature players from Gordon, Rushville, Hay Springs, and Pine Ridge, S.D. and have already played a combined 16 games this summer.

This past week, the oldest group of this bunch, the seniors, brought home their first win of the season with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Sidney on the road.

The Prep team picked up their first win last week as well, taking down rival Chadron.

The Juniors team has played quite the vaulted schedule so far in 2025 and is still looking for that first win of the season.

The team is playing their home schedule at Modisett Ball Park in Rushville for the time being. That schedule will split when needed repairs to the lights are completed at Kiwanis Field in Gordon.

The Regulators have a home doubleheader on Wednesday, June 4 against Bridgeport. The first pitch is set for 5:00 p.m.

The following day, the Regulator Prep team will welcome in Gering for another doubleheader beginning at 5:30 p.m.

The Juniors team will hit the road this weekend for the Gering Tournament and will play 4 games in 3 days in Gering.
