Hawks girls finish up their 2023-24 season at Sub-Districts

    By Scott Bidroski The Hay Springs Hawks Girls Wrestling team has put the finishing touches on their 2023-24 season.

    All three young ladies failed to qualify in the Sub-District tournament which was held on Saturday, February 3 at Perkins County High School in Grant, Neb.

    Senior Abby Nelson finished her day with a 0-2 record and a 7-14 overall record.

    Senior Hayden Boles also finished her day with a 0-2 record and completes her season with a 21-13 record.

    Senior Brooke Winters lost both of her matches as well and finishes her season with a 4-16 record overall.

    All attention will now turn to the boys as they head to Broken Bow on Saturday, February 10 to compete in Districts.

    The boys will be vying for one of the top 4 spots in each weight bracket to punch their ticket to Omaha to wrestle in the State Championships on February 15-18.
