By Scott Bidroski The young guns of the Security First Regulator youth baseball program has themselves another successful weekend on the diamond.
The team traveled over to Chadron to join in a tournament and when the dust settled on the games, the team would place second.
In game one, the Regulators faced off with Hot Springs, S.D.
The team got off to a fast start with Jackson Halverson belting an inside the park home run to spark the offense.
JT Thomas and Jhett Janssen controlled the mound for the team for the five innings, setting them up for the 14-3 win.
The team stayed put and faced off with the host Chadron team next.
This one was all Cardinals as they outpaced the Regulators, 11-1. Halverson took the tough loss on the mound.
The team got some rest and then returned the following day for their final game against Alliance.
The offense erupted once again, scoring 16 runs against the Bulldogs.
Tatum Hunter dazzled on the mound to earn the win as the Regulators finish the weekend with a 2-1 record after beating Alliance, 16-6.
The Regulators are comprised of young men from Rushville, Hay Springs, and Gordon.
